it was the Coronation of King Charles the Third. nalin was watching it, shouting angry things at the TV. i went downstairs to make some music instead. i made this piece. and as i was saving it i realised that, even though i had not consciously been thinking about COVID-19, somehow i had still made a piece that was tangentially related - because it was a piece made during the Coronation, and the root word "Corona" is all about crowns, and how our little friend the "crowned virus" is an even more powerful ruler than the King, with power over our very lives and deaths, a rapacious coloniser with an empire that spans the entire world, and a fickle temper. and you know what? our word "coroner" comes from the same root word.

so anyway somehow this lovely piece of music made to escape political thoughts became political just by the act of thinking about it. funny how things happen, huh.
